Whipped by WIPs
August 10th, 2008I have been suffering from a serious case of startitis for most of the summer. This is the initial infection for me, but I hear that it is chronic, liable to reappear when conditions are favorable. While research is inconclusive, it is indicated that a substantial dose of “shaming the knitter publicly” can alleviate the condition.
And so I give you a works-in-progress (WIP) roundup.
- Notre Dame de Grace Pullover
-
Pattern: Interweave Knits Summer 2007; Yarn: Mission Falls 1824 Wool
Started one week ago, I am loving knitting this. Mission Falls 1824 Wool is one of my favorite yarns, and it zooms along the needles.
- Clapotis
-
Pattern: Knitty; Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Helen’s Lace
I’d like to wear this to a wedding in October, but have nearly given up hope on getting it done by then (especially with Notre Dame getting all the knitting time). It’s an easy pattern and beautiful yarn, but the small needles (US4) make it slow.
- Uh-Ohs
-
Pattern: Mochimochi Land; Yarn: Tahki Stacy Charles Cotton Classic
These are the most embarassing WIP, because they are so close to being done. Intended for a baby that arrived over a month ago, they are now earmarked for the next sprog, expected in January 2009.
- Judy’s Colors Stocking
-
Pattern and yarn come in a kit. Would like to have this done for Christmas 2008.
- Seed Stitch Scarf
-
Pattern: seed stitch; Yarn: unknown, recycled from a sweater
While this scarf is “in progress” and I am looking forward to wearing it, it’s mainly my easy project that I pick up whenever I don’t have something else small to take traveling.
Hey, that actually wasn’t so bad. As long as I don’t think about all the rest of the yarn waiting to be cast on. *sigh*
